In Steal Fish Eggs, the official experience description tells you to steal fish eggs from fish, hatch them to collect rare fish, earn money from your fish, upgrade the endless pool and base, and train on the endless pool to gain swim speed. Discovering rarer fish eggs, fish, sizes, and mutations is a core progression goal — but every egg starts with the same stealing procedure below.

Egg stealing, step by step

1. Choose an egg and check the area. Look for an egg beside a guarding fish underwater. Check the area's recommended swim speed before swimming toward it.
2. Watch out for the guard. The guarding fish actively chases and attacks you, and getting hit knocks you off course. It can swim fast, so expect to be pursued the whole way in.
3. Evade and grab the egg. Use quick juke maneuvers to slip past the guard, then reach and take the egg. Eggs can be basic, rare, or legendary, but the stealing procedure is identical for every rarity.
4. Swim away with the egg and return to base. The guard can pursue you after you take it, so keep moving away from the guard on the return trip.
5. Place the egg down at your base. An acquired egg available for placement, followed by its growth or hatch wait, is the completion indicator. For example, a returned walrus egg with tusks had a five-minute hatch wait after placement; that is a hatch wait for that egg, not a timer for collecting every egg.

Prerequisites that affect collection

• Swim speed: Each egg location shows a recommended swim speed to help you prepare for its guard; this is guidance rather than an entry lock. Swim speed comes from training on the endless pool. If guards keep catching you, train before trying again.
• Location difficulty: Early areas like Pearl Lagoon, Coral Reef, Snowy Sea, and Volcano have demonstrated successful steals. For deeper areas, compare your speed with the displayed recommendation before attempting the steal.

When collection fails

A guarding fish can catch you before you reach the egg, and repeated hits can interfere with your movement — but if you can still get to the egg, you can still claim it. A shark guard can kick you out during an attempt: one attempt at 10 swim speed in an area recommending 1,000 ended this way. Training offers a way to prepare for another try. In that example, the player unlocked the training setup for $1,000, trained to a reported 2,600 speed, and attempted the shark egg again; those example values do not guarantee an escape.

After the steal

After taking the egg, escape the guard, return to base, and place the egg down to grow and hatch. When it hatches into the corresponding fish, you can claim the money the fish generates.
